Sick Sadie ~ Sick Mommy!

Well this last few weeks have not been good in the Mills houshold! First last week Sadie, our Doxie, keept rubbing her eye. So off to the Vet we went. She had a grass seed in her eye! That had scratched her cornia! Some ointment and $40.00 later she is doing well! Then mom's eye's started itching. We went to the doctor and she has Bleforitus which is an iritation of the eye lids/lash line. The doctor said to scrub her eye lids with Baby Shampoo and put an ointment on. There goes another $40.00! Then last week we noticed some lumps on Sadie's back and side. She kept on biteing them and when they got big I squized one and some bloody-pus stuff came out so off to the vet again! When we got there he took one look and started squizing one of the sores. Out came some more bloody pus then this capsoul and a bug! Yes my little baby had a fly larva in her! Actually 2! The vet thinks that the other one had already developed to the point where it hatched! The Vet said that this fly is unuasual but Sadie's was the second one he had seen this week! He said that she could have picked up the fly eggs anywhere and they are so small that we couldn't see them. The eggs enter the blood stream and then ride the blood until it gets close to the skin and stops! The Larva then drills a little hole so it can come up for air! So more anitbotics for Sadie dear and another $40.00 spent at the Vet! Hopefully we will be healthy for a while!

Enter 2005

Well I have enter the age! I not only have a cellphone, digital camera, computer, now I have a PDA! Now I just have to figure out how to load stuff onto it! I tried this morning to load the Bible Program I got but no luck! Oh well ~ Scott, my boss, will try to help me tomarrow! For now I am having fun playing games on the darn thing! It will give me something to play with when I take mom to the doctors or wait for other appointments!

Picnic at Fenton Lake

Well our church had a picnic potluck at Fenton Lake last night. It was so beautiful to be in the mountains and cool! However, the Park Ranger said that in 10 years the lake will be gone! There was a fire in the area about 5 years ago and all of the ashes & mountain are sliding into the lake (not really a lake I would call it a good pond!). So they think it will take about 10 years for this silt to fill the lake. When we were there you could see where the silt has taken over. You could also see where the fire had gone to in this area. Scott, our minister & my boss, gathered up some loose wood and some of it was already charred and used it to light a beautiful fire in the fireplace in the shelter. That's him playing the guitar and you can just see on the edge of the picture the rock fire place that they built! We were in this beautiful wood shelter that looked pretty new! I believe they also made some of the tables that we used for the picnic. Our church is small but we had a good group! Mom & I were the last ones to get there! Next year I must leave earlier! We had a great time. It was decided that next year we will start earlier during the day. No one wanted to drive mountain roads in the dark to go home! Also we hope to find a place to have the picnic that is closer to us but still in the mountains! It was about an hour and a half drive from Rio Rancho to get to Fenton Lake. I loved the drive and have been known to drive long distances to do crazy things but most of the people I know don't like to drive! (Crazy huh!)

Hello

Well Hello ~ I am new to this and what a fun way to get started! This is a picture of me (on the left!) and my mom. It was taken last winter at our church for our church picture directory! Since I am the Secretary here at Covenant Christian Church in Rio Rancho, New Mexico it was the one picture I have on hand to give to you today! I will have to get some pictures of my Crocheting projects that I am working on at this time! I learned how to crochet about 8 years ago after mom & I moved to Rio Rancho from southern California! There was a crafty couple at the church that I grew up in California that made "Granny Square" Quilts and I always thought that was a neet gift! Patty would make the squares and then her husband, Bill, would put on the matching color and put them together! At First Christian it was known that when you got married or had a baby you got a "Bill & Patty" Quilt. Well when we moved here I had never gotten married or had a child and I was so sad that I would never get a "Bill & Patty" Quilt. The week before we moved out here to New Mexico the Church had a party for my mom & me and Bill & Patty gave me one of their quilts! I was floored! The quilt is special and it made me think that I need to start! A girl that I was working with was going to start taking a crocheting class at our local craft store and I asked her if I could join in! I did and had a great time! Since that time I have made quite a few afgans for weddings & babies! I guess I have become just like Bill & Patty! !
